Banana Screen

Banana screens are widely used in mineral processing industries and other industries because of its high efficiency and large capacities. The basic working principle is that the screen surface is partitioned according to the requirement of separation. At the feed end zone, the screening media is deep in slope due to which larger throw and high rate of material flow are achieved due to which the material layers thin and segregate quickly.
At the middle section, the slope is reduced further to maintain normal throw and high material flow rate are applied to prompt segregated materials to penetrate through the screen aperture and segregate instantly.
At the discharge zone the slope of screening media is reduced to achieve throw and rate of material flow are of standard screening machine, so the screen surface material can stay longer and fully penetrate through the screen.

Hence ‘Banana’ screens are with multi slope concept screening equipment. The various slopes may incorporate deck media with different apertures to meet the particular process requirements.
The screens are commonly designed to fit modular polyurethane deck panels. However, woven wire or punch plate may also be used.
Bevcon Banana screens are also available in double deck models. The screening action is achieved through linear motion screen
Bevcon Banana screens are constructed with two side plates fabricated out of fully killed steel plates. Both the side plates are connected with tie members of either rectangular or hollow sections (pipes).
A heavy duty drive console fabricated and stress relieved is provided on which unbalanced drives are mounted above the CG of the machine.
Top cover is completely sealed and encapsulated against dust emissions.

  • Body plates without welding and grip lock or huck-bolted assembly. Very safe regarding fatigue stress
  • High throughput for a given screening area
  • Maintenance free and life lubricated unbalance motors
  • Abrasion resistant liners on feed, discharge ends and inner side plates
  • Coal, Pet coke
  • Iron Ore fines
  • Bauxite fines
  • Gypsum, Sand
  • Quartzite
  • Feldspar
  • Crushed limestone
